Healthcare Open Enrollment

Our annual Healthcare Open Enrollment period has arrived.  This is the brief window of opportunity to change your Medical or Dental plan for the upcoming year (July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020).  The Open Enrollment period begins on May 6 and ends on May 31.

If you wish to make a change, you must notify HR/Payroll for your agency and they will make the change.

A few things to know:

  • There are no changes to our current health plan coverage for the upcoming year.
  • There are no changes to the HEP requirements for the upcoming year (view your 2019 HEP progress/requirements)
  • This is the only time during the next year that you can select/change your coverage (other than adding or removing an individual).
  • Your current coverage will continue unless you make a change between May 6 and May 31, 2019.
  • The Comptroller's Office has released a booklet entitled Healthcare Options Planner to explain each plan and assist in your decision (the cost-share amounts are on pg 22).
  • There are several Healthcare Fairs available for employees to learn more about the plans...view the Healthcare Fair Schedule
  • If you are over age 65, do not sign up for Medicare Part B until you seperate from State service.
  • Children can be covered up to age 26 for Medical, you MUST notify HR/Payroll to remove a dependant at the end of the year in which they turn 26 (unless disabled).
  • Children can be covered up to age 19 for Dental, you MUST notify HR/Payroll to remove a dependant at the end of the month in which they turn 19 (unless disabled).
