A&R Appeal Work for OJE Progresses

The work of Don Levenson, A&R consultant, former A&R member and Principal Attorney (DPH), along with Marsha Goldberg (DSS), and Lynn Murphy (DOL) continues on our OJE appeals, which were filed in March of 2012.

How the "Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) Trust Fund" Works

$87 million is in this trust fund, $24.5 million from the State, $62.5 million from employees.

State begins matching employee contributions in 2017.

Fund to help pay for health benefits for state employees retiring on or after 7/22/11.

Health benefits for state employees who retired before 7/22/11 will be paid from general fund revenues.

No money has been withdrawn from this fund.

Fund expected to grow to $2 billion in ten years assuming no assets are withdrawn.

Mileage Reimbursement Increased to 56.5 Cents/Mile Effective 1/29/13

According to FTR Bulletin 13-02 announced in the Federal Register dated December 28, 2012, the General Services Administration (GSA) of the Federal Government is increasing the reimbursement rate from 55.5 cents to 56.5 cents per mile for use of privately owned automobiles when authorized as advantageous to the Government.

Arbitrator Rules Against SEBAC's Grievance on Managerial Longevity

"The sacrifices required of managers as a result of the 2011 budget crisis were larger than those required of bargaining unit employees in units that ratified agreements consistent with the requirements of the SEBAC 2011 Revised Agreement. The grievance must therefore be denied."
