A&R occassionally coordinates a large professional development event for the membership. This year, we will be hosting a day at the Water's Edge in Westbrook, CT on Friday May 24th. This event will accommodate a maximum of 250 attendees, so there is limited space available. The conference check-in will begin at 7:30AM with sessions starting at 8:30AM. This will be an all day event consisting of 4 workshops. Each attendee will be assigned to all 4 workshops. There will be a continental breakfast in the morning, lunch at mid-day, and snack in the afternoon.
So this is how the process will work:
- Start by completing the application form
- MAIL the completed application form to: A&R Office, 805 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 (applications must be submitted by MAIL only).
- Notify your supervisor at least 3 weeks in advance that you are seeking Professional Leave per Article 31 on May 24th (there is no overtime or mileage reimbursement or meal allowance...so adjust your schedules in advance to accomodate this event and do not submit any expenses for the day).
- The first 250 applicants will be accepted and notification will be sent to your home address.
- If you are accepted but need to cancel, please notify the union office promptly so we can accomodate someone on the "wait list".
- The agenda for the day will be given to each attendee at the registration table and certificates will be handed out at the end of the day.
