To our Retirees and Future Retirees:

Over the last few days, retirees received a notice from Aetna indicating that State Employees now have a choice of two different ways of receiving your retiree healthcare. The first is through the current Aetna Medicare Advantage plan and the second is through a new Medicare Wrap.  While core benefits of both choices are identical, the Medicare Advantage choice provides some supplemental benefits not available under the Medicare Wrap choice (discussed below).

A&R was able to obtain a handful of tickets to Mamma Mia! at the Bushnell for Wednesday night 10/21/26 for a 7:30pm show.

Tickets are $113 each for orchestra seats.  These will be physical tickets (not e-Tickets) so make sure your mailing address is correct when you register as we will mail your tickets. Registration will still be online through our "new" billing system (we email you a bill and you make payment using your credit card thru Square).  Very limited number of tickets and it is first come, first served until they are all gone.

The State Employee Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC) and the State are currently in negotiations over the State Employee pension and healthcare agreement, which is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2027.

While negotiations are still in the early stages, the parties have exchanged proposals and continue to work through the issues. As is customary, the details of the proposals and any tentative agreements generally remain confidential while negotiations are ongoing so that the bargaining process can proceed without disruption.

The Annual A&R Picnic at LaBella Vista in Waterbury is set for Friday September 4 at 11:30AM - 4:00PM.  No need to use your own time, our contract grants 4hrs for either the union picnic or an agency picnic (use CORE-CT code LPRTY).  This event is basically burgers and "summer food" combined with free beer & wine.  We have games, music, and raffle prizes while you unwind in the warm September sun...however, the deadline to sign-up is Tuesday August 18 at noon!  Don't miss the deadline, we turn in our numbers to the venue Tuesday afternoon and we are therefore stuck with that count.  Register
