The goal of the Convention was succinctly stated by Tiana Ocasio, CT AFL-CIO Executive Secretary during her opening remarks as she called the Convention to order, wherein she stated that "As representatives of Connecticut's labor movement, it is our responsibility to pose meaningful questions to candidates who seek our endorsement. We must hold them accountable for their shortcomings and applaud them for the times they stood with us in our fight for justice."
