Are you interested in working at a different State Agency? Our contract provides that members of two different agencies in the same job classification have the ability to swap postions between the agencies. Both agencies must agree for the swap to proceeed, as must each of the employees. Swaps are permanent. If you are interested in swapping to another agency, please complete the SWAP FORM. Submitting the information will not initiate the swap. We are gathering the information so that we can identify compatible employees and faciltate swaps.
The Union and the State have mutually acknowledged that there are occasions when exchange (swap) of employees between two agencies is of mutual benefit. Language governing swaps can be found beginning on page 93 of the Union contract, under Memorandum of Understanding VI.
It is important to remember that for a swap to occur, the swap must be approved not only by the two affected employees, but their respective Agencies must also agree. If either Agency denies the proposed swap, management's decision cannot be grieved. Most importantly, if you do indeed swap to another agency, the swap is final with no opportunity for you to return to your former agency.
