The Telework Application window is open from May 12 through June 11, 2025. This application window will allow Telework from July 11 thru January 8
It is important to submit a new application even if there is no change in your requested level of Telework (don't under-estimate the importance of submitting the Telework application despite how friendly your boss is or how long you have been working the same schedule...fill out and submit the application).
There is a new process to submit your Telework application that has been rolled out at many agencies. The State has created a new web portal that will streamline the application/approval process. This is the link to the new Telework Application portal. This is a link to the User's Guide for the new system
If your agency has instructed employees (typically via e-blast notification) to use this portal then consider this new web portal as the ONLY proper method for you to submit your Telework Application.
If your agency has not sent instructions to use this portal then you should try submitting via this portal but you should also, as a pre-caution, complete the "old" online submission form that is linked here; in other words, if your agency hasn't given you instructions, utilize both methods just to ensure that you have submitted a form. If you are denied your Telework request, the Appeal Form has remained constant and is linked here: Telework Appeal Form
Lastly, don't forget about completing an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) if you wish to adjust your work hours. It is often over-looked in the world of Telework, but there is a separate contractual right that runs concurrent with Telework where employees can have extended/shortened work days. AWS can be found in Article 16A of your contract...but the same mantra will be repeated for AWS as with Telework: make sure you complete/submit your agency form for an Alternative Work Schedule; don't take for granted that it doesn't need to be completed b/c you have always done this schedule...complete/submit the form. Each agency has it's own form so you can typically get the form from an agency Steward or from Human Resources. If no one can find the form, then simply email your manager with your AWS requested hours. Generally, AWS submissions are done every quarter so get in the habit of submitting these regularly even if your HR doesn't send you notifications about it.
