Second Gubernatorial Debate held in New Haven: The debate surprisingly did not involve the state employee pensions. Bob Stefanowski took a quick poke at the DMV, but otherwise, this debate was closer to issues related to the real estate industry as the CT Association of Realtors sponsored the debate. Bob Stefanowski stuck to a simple, stubborn message of "eliminate the income tax" and "Ned Lamont will raise taxes just like Dan Malloy". Ned Lamont continually pressed beyond the bumper sticker level messaging and promised a property tax credit for homes/autos. Overall, both candidates are starting to settle in and the next debate may be a little more engaging than this last one.
For those with political bones within them, there are two actions taking place soon.

AFT-CT Conservative Caucus: Typically, labor-friendly candidates are from the Democratic Party, but this is not the perspective of all union members, so for those who want to see a different political perspective represented within the union the Conservative Caucus will meet on October 16th 5:00pm at the AFT-CT office, 35 Marshall Rd, Rocky Hill, CT, 06067 (this is NOT the A&R office).
