Our annual Healthcare Open Enrollment period has arrived. This is the brief window of opportunity to change your Medical or Dental plan for the upcoming year (July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020). The Open Enrollment period begins on May 6 and ends on May 31.
If you wish to make a change, you must notify HR/Payroll for your agency and they will make the change.
A few things to know:
- There are no changes to our current health plan coverage for the upcoming year.
- There are no changes to the HEP requirements for the upcoming year (view your 2019 HEP progress/requirements)
- This is the only time during the next year that you can select/change your coverage (other than adding or removing an individual).
- Your current coverage will continue unless you make a change between May 6 and May 31, 2019.
- The Comptroller's Office has released a booklet entitled Healthcare Options Planner to explain each plan and assist in your decision (the cost-share amounts are on pg 22).
- There are several Healthcare Fairs available for employees to learn more about the plans...view the Healthcare Fair Schedule
- If you are over age 65, do not sign up for Medicare Part B until you seperate from State service.
- Children can be covered up to age 26 for Medical, you MUST notify HR/Payroll to remove a dependant at the end of the year in which they turn 26 (unless disabled).
- Children can be covered up to age 19 for Dental, you MUST notify HR/Payroll to remove a dependant at the end of the month in which they turn 19 (unless disabled).
- In the case of divorce, the ex-spouse MUST be removed upon finalization of the divorce.
