Our Negotiation Committee is still open for any member who wants to attend and participate in the formulation of our next contract. We held our first meeting in August and we have our second meeting scheduled for Wednesday September 18. Any A&R member who wishes to join us is welcome to do so. The Negotiations team meets in-person at the A&R Office in Rocky Hill and our meetings start at 5:30PM. We will provide a light meal as well.
Also, the Labor-to-Labor walk schedule has been updated (you can view it here). Registering in advance is helpful to the organizers of these walks but if you just "show up" that would be just as welcomed (register here). The Labor Walks are designed to be a Get Out The Vote event where labor union employees knock on doors of other labor union employees to encourage them to vote this November. A&R is sponsoring a contest this year with prizes for A&R members who participate in these walks (we may only know that you are A&R if you pre-register though). If you are interested in ensuring that fellow union members participate in the voting process this November then this is a good way to make sure that happens. These events have a quick rundown of the talking points but generally it is not complicated and easy to pick it up quickly while on the route. These walks only happen in September/October so if you are interested (or feel like you deserve to win a prize) please sign up and attend.
