Path to Power

Every year we have several A&R members who run for office in their municipality; A&R absolutely encourages this and we want to let everyone know that we do support our members with endorsements and mailings if you share our support for the labor movement and you are seeking local office.  If you are running for local office this year, please look for our Endorsement Form on this website later this summer so we can help get you elected.  Further, if you are considering a bid for local office, all A&R members have access to a candidate training program formed by the CT AFL-CIO called Path-to-Power.  The training session is scheduled for Saturday June 21st, registration is available thru June 16.  If you are considering getting involved in local elections, then feel free to attend this free program, register using this link

Don't forget, there a several "No Kings" rallies this weekend throughout the state (June 14th), you can find them at www.nokings.org  (times vary by location but there are 30 locations in CT where these rallies will be held).

Lastly, for those looking to push Lamont into doing SOMETHING for labor this legislative session: there is a picket at the Governor's Mansion at 6PM on Monday June 16th to encourage the Governor to sign SB 8 (which is a bill that grants Unemployment payments to striking workers)...this bill overwhelmingly passed both the House and Senate but the Governor has said he won't sign it...the picket is to encourage him to sign the bill.  This is the link to the flyer
