No good way to say this: there has been a data breach within the State Employee healthcare system. Quantum Health is sort of this middle-man between employees and our medical insurance; they provide the navigation and cost-savings coordination to employees. Quantum Health had a data breach which could possibly expose personal information. Often times, there isn't a clear indication as to what information is breached or for what purpose it could be used so as a precaution, Quantum will be offering all individuals on the State Employee medical plan 2 years of credit monitoring through a company called Kroll. All employees will be receiving a letter from Kroll/Quantum regarding the breach with instructions on how to sign up for the credit monitoring. However, individuals MUST OPT-IN to the credit monitoring services (it will not cost anything and it will not auto-renew after the 2 year period expires). This protection will not be automatic, every individual needs to take the steps to opt-in.
Be on the lookout for the letter which includes the instructions to opt-in for the credit monitoring. View the FAQ from Quantum/Kroll
