On Tuesday 1/15/19, Governor Lamont and his staff held a meeting of statewide labor leaders. This meeting was not a "state employee" meeting but a more general gathering of labor leaders from the larger organizations which represent labor unions throughout the state. A&R was not part of this discussion and (despite any rumors) there were no discussions regarding changes to our SEBAC agreement. This was a meeting about listening to each other, providing assistance in solutions, and gathering ideas...my first suggestion is to stop wasting money on Kronos (or as the state likes to disquise it now: "CTTime!" with an exclamation point and a happy face emoji...that should hide the fact that this is a multimillion dollar waste of money b/c they portray it as exciting and happy)...on that note...
A&R made an FOI request for the cost sheets related to KRONOS...this wonderful little system will gladly track your time for the little expense of a half-million dollars per month! yep, somehow this system will have a return on investment that exceeds $6 million annually or this turns into a morale killing machine which loses money...good choice on this project. The news only gets worse, that cost ends after 3 years when we have to re-negotiate the liscensing and support agreement which generally sky-rockets once the system is in place and it becomes difficult to seperate from it. We have attached some of the documents provided under FOI, not sure we see any costs associated with IT work, electrical work, networking equipment, etc...this is just hardware, software, and licensing costs...i'm sure everything else associated with getting this system up-and-running is free, right?
