The CT AFL-CIO will be holding “Labor Walks” leading up to this year’s elections.  A&R is supporting these walks and is looking to hold a “contest” (with prizes) for A&R members who participate in the Labor Walks.  A Labor Walk is where you join your fellow union members to knock on union household doors, discuss key issues, and educate members about labor-endorsed candidates.  There are several Walks throughout the state this fall and these are not contentious door-knocks, these are only union members talking to union households…a brief training is provided for anyone new but you can just

A&R Seeking New Union Stewards

A&R stewards protect rights secured under our contract. They are generally the first point of contact in grievance filing. Stewards also welcome-in all new bargaining unit employees and assist them in signing up as A&R members.

A&R has experienced an increase in membership over the last several years and we are always seeking the next generation of union stewards. If you have an interest in protecting your contract and helping your fellow co-workers navigate the state system, please reach out to our Chief Steward Patrick Lamb at plamb@andr.org with (1) a cover letter; (2) a résumé; and (3) the names and phone numbers of two A&R members in your agency who will serve as character references. Our current top agency priorities are: DEEP (Hartford and/or PURA in New Britain), DRS, DAS, DESPP, DPH, and OPM

Effective June 28, 2024, all employees will receive a 2.5% General Wage Increase.  The newest pay scales have been finalized and can be found here: A&R Wage Scales 2024/25

The 2.5% increase will be seen in your July 25th paycheck (which covers the payperiod of June 28 thru July 11).  Since our contract expires on June 30, 2025 these pay scales will remain in effect until we have a successor agreement.

Also in July, Tier 4 employees will see the 2% Pension Shortfall surcharge removed from their paychecks.  This surcharge has been in place since July 2023 and will be removed in July 2024.

It has come to A&R's attention that the State is seeking to recover funds from some miscalculations related to the 2018 Pension Catch-up.  A&R has filed a grievance on this issue as our contract [Article 24 Section 11(b)] limits the "Look Back and Recovery" period to 5 years from the date of determination (The 2018 Catch-Up period exceeds the 5 year look-back). Further, in accordance with the A&R contract [Article 24 Section 11] any attempt at further collection shall be stayed until the grievance process is complete.

If you received notification that you have a balance due for the 2018
